Known as The Little Longhorn in 2022, owner DJ Smith decided to make a change but not to the business’s commitment to giving back, or its beautiful Christmas trees. After much contemplation and reflection, the name was transformed, and a new chapter was born for Holiday & Harvest.
“Our first holiday season was everything we could’ve hoped for. We felt like a holiday town square! It was the perfect combination of Christmas cheer and community in our hometown,” says Smith. “It was also incredibly rewarding to see the community get behind our partnership with Austin Sunshine Camps.”
A distinguishing difference of Holiday & Harvest is the source of its trees. Hailing from a family-owned farm in Oregon, the close partnership ensures that customers receive the highest quality and freshest trees, to create the perfect holiday nostalgia that will last well through St. Nick’s arrival.
“Opting for a fresh-cut Christmas tree is an environmentally sound choice, and it cultivates an interactive holiday tradition,” says Smith.
Set at the mecca of town, 121 East Mercer Street, the setup is meticulously designed to create a magical atmosphere where families can enjoy the moment and where children can play tag within the pines or pose by Christmas-themed cut-outs, making lasting memories.
Aiming to create a business measured not by profits but by smiles, Holiday & Harvest’s goal is to plant a meaningful seed in Dripping Springs and surrounding areas. Each tree purchased translates into a direct donation to Austin Sunshine Camps, which helps fund the magic of an overnight summer camp, free of cost, to at-risk youth in our communities.
“Dripping Springs is not just a location choice; it’s our home,” says Smith.
With Holiday & Harvest, the season is about nurturing the holiday spirit, creating memorable moments, and giving back to the community. So, this holiday, when you find that perfect tree, know that your choice is adding charm to your home and bringing a little more light to the lives of those in need in our community.
