How Naples Locals Embrace the Holiday Spirit

Carolynne J. Harvey

Dream Baby Sleep

Tell us about yourself and your business.

I started Dream Baby Sleep because I needed Dream Baby Sleep when my daughter was an infant. Back then, I broke nearly every “rule” in the book: I nursed her to sleep, I rocked and shushed her to sleep, I co-slept until she was almost a year old. I was a single mom dealing with undiagnosed postpartum depression— every minute of sleep I could get was precious, but neither of us was getting enough. The deprivation was amplifying my depression exponentially and preventing me from being the mom I knew I could be. I needed information and tools. After I found them, my experience with my daughter inspired me to start Dream Baby Sleep. I’m now so happy to provide those resources and solutions to families all across the United States & Canada.  After I became a sleep consultant in 2012, I founded Dream Baby Sleep. I attended The Family Sleep Institute’s Child Sleep Consultant Program, as well as getting certified as a sleep consultant and newborn sleep certified by the Institute of Pediatric Sleep & Parenting. I’m also a designated safe sleep guardian by the 501c3 First Candle and a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants. Thanks to my training, I’ve been able to leverage what I’ve learned about the science behind baby sleep to meet people where they are and help countless families get on the road to the rest they deserve.

What does giving/the holiday season mean to you?

Giving feeds my soul. I’m currently partnered with the Founder of Naples Brunch Club, Maggie Jetha to raise $40,000 for HelpCureHD. This will provide IVF for a local SWFL Mom and break the HD bloodline which is currently our own path toward a cure.

Where is your favorite place to celebrate the holidays with friends or family?

My favorite place to celebrate the holidays is at home, where loved ones come together. It’s not so much about the location, but the warmth, togetherness, and lasting memories we create.

What’s the best holiday gift you’ve received that really reflected who you are as a person?

The best holiday gift I’ve received that truly reflected who I am has to be the Barbie Dream House. It sparked my imagination and creativity, and I spent endless hours designing and rearranging the rooms. As someone who always loved dreaming big and creating new things, it was the perfect reflection of my passion for building, dreaming, and thinking outside the box. It was more than just a gift—it was a symbol of the joy in creating something magical, much like the vision I now bring to life with Ellectrify.

Tell us about yourself and your business.

As the owner of Mondo Uomo, I've been dedicated to providing high-quality menswear for over 32 years in Naples, Florida. Growing up as a tailor's son, fashion and craftsmanship have always been a central part of my life. Alongside running the business, being a husband, dad and a family man is a key part of who I am. Balancing my passion for menswear with family life has shaped how I approach both business and personal relationships, ensuring that care, attention, and dedication are at the heart of everything I do.

What does giving/the holiday season mean to you?

To me, the holiday season is a time of reflection, gratitude, and giving, rooted in my Christian values. It's about recognizing the blessings in our lives and sharing those with others. The spirit of giving isn't just about material gifts, but about offering kindness, love, and compassion to those around us.

Is there a gift or experience your business can provide? Tell us about it and who the ideal receiver would be.

Absolutely! At Mondo Uomo, we take pride in helping our customers find truly special menswear gifts that will be cherished and appreciated. Our team loves to offer personalized recommendations, ensuring that each item reflects the recipient's unique style and personality.

Where is your favorite place to celebrate the holidays with friends or family?

My favorite place to celebrate the holidays with friends and family is Truluck's. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting setting that adds to the joy of the season. After our meal, we love walking around Fifth Avenue, enjoying the festive decorations and vibrant atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to create lasting memories together and soak in the holiday spirit.

Kristen Cullen

Remarkable Resilience by Kristen Cullen

Tell us about yourself and your business.

I am a resilience mentor and a personal brand strategist. I help people own who they were born to be and be of service to others who need them in the world.

What does giving/the holiday season mean to you?

The giving/holiday season is a time to reflect on what matters most in life with family, friends, and others who may not be as fortunate. I was raised by very philanthropic and charitable parents to always give back and do good not only in our community, but for the causes that are near and dear to our hearts. No one should feel alone during the holidays.

Where is your favorite place to celebrate the holidays with friends or family?

Locally, our go-to is the beach at sunset on Vanderbilt Beach. We love doing gatherings at Bar Tulia in The Mercato,  Del Mar on 5th Ave, or The London Club. But I have to say, I love to cook a holiday feast for my family at home most. I am the happiest person on earth when my entire family is together.

Is there a gift or experience your business can provide? Tell us about it and who the ideal receiver would be.

I offer a series of programs that are customized for each client. The personal branding offerings are designed to create clarity and help a client best connect with their ideal customers through a very specific strategy process and plan. The Remarkable Resilience series of programs are designed to help people move beyond their pasts that may be holding them back in areas of their lives, and make a clearing for the future they choose by their own design. I offer free strategy calls at kristencullen.com/freecall to learn more about each other. For any Naples City Lifestyle magazine readers and/or Naples Social Club members, I offer a 20% discount off of all programs offered.

R Council

Tell us about yourself and your business.

I am a proud mom to two amazing daughters, who inspire me every day and push me to be the best version of myself. They were the motivation behind turning my dream of opening a boutique into a reality, for their future.  My store, R Council, offers contemporary women’s clothing and accessories with a focus on effortless style. We also have adorable kid’s products and unique gifting items.

Tell us about a special holiday memory.

There isn’t one specific memory that stands out, it’s really the blend of all the Christmas mornings I’ve spent being a mom and the traditions I’ve carried over from my childhood.  The Christmas pj’s we open on Christmas Eve, preparing everything from “Santa” once everyone goes to bed (which is way past my bedtime now that they’re older), and then getting to see the awe on their faces in the morning. I love it all!

Looking ahead, what legacy do you hope to leave behind for future generations both within your family and community?

I hope I have inspired my daughters to forge their own paths and passionately chase their dreams. There have been plenty of sleepless nights trying to find the balance of being a mom they can look up to and owning a business, but I hope they see the dedication I have to them and the hard work, positivity, and perseverance it takes to achieve your goals. Living a happy and purposeful life, not only enriches our own lives, but inspires others to seek their own fulfillment.

Jennifer Ohlman

Tell us about yourself and your business.

I’m the Strategic Growth Manager for Compass throughout Southwest Florida, which means I work with individual real estate agents as well as Broker/Owners and help them transition to be a part of the Compass family. I was born and raised here in Bonita Springs, and my mother was a real estate broker herself, so I grew up in real estate. I moved away from Naples for 20 years and lived in New York City and in Chicago, and moved back to Naples a couple years ago. And I couldn’t be happier to be back!

What does giving/the holiday season mean to you?

The holiday season to me is all about spending it with family and friends and giving to those less fortunate. In Chicago and now here in Southwest Florida I have been a member of Junior League, and am currently on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Fort Myers. Since we are the only League in the region, we serve Naples as well. We always do giveback nights and raise money for local charities and organizations, so I am always looking for sponsors who want to align themselves to our cause.

Tell us about a special holiday memory.

An annual tradition for me and my family has been to see The Nutcracker every Christmas. I grew up dancing classical ballet at Gulfshore Ballet here, and we would perform The Nutcracker every year. When I moved to New York, some of my favorite holiday traditions are getting dressed up and seeing The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center with family or friends every year. There’s something about it that is beautiful and also puts me in the holiday spirit!
