One of the most popular stores in Pigeon Forge, TN, is now our neighbor. The Christmas Place has opened its second location ever right on North Mount Juliet Road, offering year-round Christmas cheer – and shopping – to Middle Tennessee.
Located across from the Sellars Park development, the new retail destination covers 9,000 square feet and provides 78 parking spaces, including five bus stalls. The store also has the signature German-inspired bell tower traditionally associated with the original Pigeon Forge location.
The store features a year-round assortment of Christmas ornaments, trees, indoor and outdoor lights, music, collectibles, gifts, and home and business decorations in traditional, retro, classic, whimsical, and contemporary designs.
The company is well known for selling popular Christmas collections and other collectible brands, such as Department 56 villages, Christopher Radko handcrafted glass Christmas ornaments featuring traditional holiday and religious imagery, Mark Roberts limited edition collectible items, Lemax cityscapes, and villages scenes, and Fontanini Nativities.
The Christmas Place was founded as a family business by Hurshel and Marian Biggs in 1986 who set up shop next to Pigeon Forge’s Old Mill center. Over the years, the family acquired more property and expanded its holiday store, and now the Bavarian-style shopping village has become a 43,000 square foot palace and one of the top Christmas stores in the United States.
The company has been honored with multiple awards for its merchandising and decorating, including the “NOEL Retailer of the Year” award recognizing outstanding growth and performance. And while it’s too soon to tell what fame will come to our local store, the original location has often been featured as the setting for numerous TV shows and magazine articles.
