For nearly four years, Drs. Kenzie and Nick Hoar of Garden City Chiropractic have assisted neighbors and families throughout Greater Cincinnati with traditional chiropractic care. But if you didn’t know, Garden City also provides care for neurological issues from a chiropractic perspective, as well.
“Our practice is nervous system-based,” Dr. Kenzie explains. “We focus on each of our member’s neurology and how it functions to give support to the entire body.”
In other words, it’s an approach that allows for an “inside-out” philosophy—one that allows Drs. Kenzie and Nick and their team to improve patient function and achieve their health goals.
“We believe the body is powerful—it has the tools it needs to heal naturally,” she says. “It’s an empowering philosophy where we work alongside our patients, highlighting just how intelligent the human design is, and how we, as their doctors, provide the clinical side of adjustments while their bodies do all the healing!”
Garden City’s approach to providing neurological care helps to elevate the nervous system’s function by removing stress, which Dr. Kenzie says is a root cause of dysfunction in the body.
When care is properly applied, pain is eased, and neighbors live happier lives.
But it’s not just for adults. “A lot of people think chiropractic is primarily for neck and back pain, and that it’s exclusively for adults.” It can benefit babies and children as well, she continues—younger patients who find themselves suffering before they’ve even had a chance to mature into adults.
“This is the population that needs us the most. They need us to advocate for them, to speak when they can’t, and believe that they can thrive in their health.”
“We get to be a part of that every day, and see miracles unfold before our eyes,” she says, smiling. “We love serving our community.”
Common Neurological Issues
Garden City patients dealing with many of today’s most common neurological issues can find relief with proper care and better understanding, Dr. Kenzie shares. What does that encompasses, and how can chiropractic help? Here are some of the most frequent issues they assist with.
- Autism. “Consistent care has shown to increase cognition, emotional regulation and verbal abilities, and promote restfulness,” Dr. Kenzie reports.
- Colic. Proper care, Dr. Kenzie says, can increase the restful side of the nervous system. This in turn promotes healing and digestion, easing colic symptoms.
- ADHD. This is an overstimulated nervous system crying for help, she explains. “Consistent care has shown to improve focus, decrease emotional outbursts, and encourage body regulation.”
- Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum Care. “Regular chiropractic care is shown to bring harmony to the nervous system as a woman prepares her body for conception,” Dr. Kenzie explains. “A more regulated nervous system for mom as she grows a baby sets baby up for success in his or her development. Chiropractic care also prepares the mother’s body for an optimal labor and delivery—both neurologically and biomechanically. Once baby is born, chiropractic care is there to support mom in her recovery postpartum, as well as invest in baby’s early development.”
- Endometriosis. Dr. Kenzie points out that endometriosis is “an umbrella term to diagnose many female reproductive concerns. It can be traced back to stress in the neurology that supplies the reproductive organs in women.” Proper care, she stresses, has shown to decrease the likelihood of flare-ups, improve menstrual regulation, and can even play a role in fertility.
