Becoming // Poetry

A sacred space
A fortune we hoped for when we were young
A mighty force of love
Our safe haven when we’ve come undone

At once
We all settle
We reach
For tea in kettles

Carrying the load of our close ones
Ending most days in a solid breath out
Tossing and turning in all of the unknowns
Knowing that we will never be without

A place to become
A place to dream
A place to wonder
A place to set the scene

Because we own our steps
We wake and we press on
We bake cookies and pastas
And welcome conversation beyond
~
What if our homes became the place
Where we let go of fear?
What if our homes became the space
Where we invited hearts that were near?

With a sacred community
Fireplaces and brunch
Hand-in-hand moments
Ending our bites with a crunch

Let this be the time we dream again
Let us live out the phrase “home sweet home”
We can change the pace and doubt
We can start new in this place of wholeness + trust.
