Reinvention has been a resonant theme for Dan Fuller, owner and principal at Haley Custom Homes, throughout his career. From dabbling in high-end residential construction during his time working in the radio industry to today, as he uses his trademarked system to maximize the efficiency and quality of his company’s home projects, Dan has utilized his background as an entrepreneur and a developer to redefine the custom home-building experience.
Dan began building in 1998 with the goal of creating unmatched experiences and end products for his clients. However, Dan found many traditional custom home-building processes to be unconducive to this goal. In 2014, he reinvented his business to address the challenges and frustrations that he was experiencing.
“I leaned on my skill sets from my previous professional life managing multiple radio stations, which are based in technology, operational systems and efficiencies,” says Dan. “I took a year off from building and created the Accelerated Precision Build (APB) System™, which addresses building issues such as budgeting, scheduling and the punch list process.”
It’s a progressive approach focused on eliminating waste, reducing build times and optimizing efficiency that Dan notes has been validated time and time again. He says that this has been especially true over the past two years since the onset of the pandemic, as extenuating and uncontrollable circumstances have posed persistent problems for the construction industry. Combined with the inimitable service that the Haley Custom Homes team provides, emphasizing personal connections and impeccable attention to detail, the company has become a sterling standard of boutique home-building on the Denver luxury real estate scene.
This reputation for immense quality and concierge-level service is especially evident in one of Haley Custom Homes’ recent Denver area projects. A new build that checks in at 8,500 square feet with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, it is a bright, luminous home that is the result of extensive collaboration between the homeowners and the Haley Custom Homes team.
“The homeowners were looking for a farmhouse with a modern feel,” says Dan. “Two main emphases were a pool house and a full kitchen to accommodate gatherings of their children and friends.”
The home’s façade brilliantly blends natural approachability and sleek modern style. French hardwood floors run throughout, and the abode is anchored by its stunning great room. Laid out in an open floorplan, the room combines the kitchen, dining and living areas all under a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling with beautiful exposed beams that add depth and an elevated level of farmhouse luxury. The kitchen is pristine with bright cabinetry, an island with bar-level seating and a unique plaster hood accent stretching to the ceiling. The living room includes a welcoming fireplace with custom steel surrounds. Abundant sunlight spills into the entire area through tall windowed doors that lead to the outdoor living area, another site of focus for the homeowners.
The pool house incorporates modified garage doors on its entire south side to create an indoor-outdoor feel with the resplendent patio and pool deck, which is ideal for both quiet relaxation and lively gatherings. Allowing the outdoors in through extensive windows is a theme throughout the home, including in the primary bathroom in which the natural light illuminates the pristine tiling and standalone soaking tub. Eye-catching light fixtures are also sprinkled throughout the home, including the luxe farmhouse fixtures of the kitchen and the unique, exposed bulb fixtures of the primary bathroom.
From the home’s beautiful natural materials, including weathered barnwood and limestone, to its gleaming modern touches, it is a property that wonderfully blends comfortable farmhouse living with the immense luxury of the abodes that Haley Custom Homes is known for creating. For Dan, it is an example of quality, efficiency and personability—the last of which is often his favorite element of a given project.
“My favorite part of this project was the relationship built with the homeowners,” says Dan. “They were wonderful collaborators, and we all had a lot of fun with this project.”
