Most of us might think that the world’s greatest artists are, well, a world away. But Gallery Veronique has been putting them within reach (and in the homes) of local residents for the past 15 years.
“We create an atmosphere for people to live, work and play,” owner Veronique Hammons-Leemans says. And she takes that trifecta seriously, bringing passion and creativity to every client and project—providing art, consultation and framing to the greater community through her gallery and shop in Harper’s Point. In her words: “We decide what fits well.”
Veronique understands that many might be intimidated by selecting art for their home or office. “I tell them to take the time to see a lot of art … it’s important to develop a sense of what touches their hearts,” she says. “Once you decide what touches you, it gets easier to be confident about buying a piece.”
Annual visits to the New York Art Expo and routine appearances at other exhibitions around the world enable Veronique to source the best, brightest and most trendsetting artists today.
“These days, people are looking for more peaceful works,” she says. “Zen, quiet and retreat settings, since the home is becoming a place where people spend more time. Calm, cleaner lines, not so heavy and dark.” In Veronique’s experience, cool colors give many a feeling of retreat and rest—two things most people are looking for more of these days … and with her help, finding in art.
“I have the best job in the world,” Veronique says. “I have so much excitement about finding new things to bring back to Cincinnati. I see beautiful things all day. How can this not be the best job in the world?” she asks. “I bring beauty, peace, and joy. What’s not to like?”
