What began in 2020 as a collaboration between Helping Hands of Celina and Grace Bridge Resale of Celina for Celina High School Homecoming, has grown into a four-high school offering. Helping Hands is continuing the free HOCO dress giveaway through working with citizens from Gunter, Celina, Prosper, McKinney, and Frisco, to collect semi-formal and formal gowns, shoes, and accessories appropriate for homecoming dances. In prior years, local businesses such as, Two 29 on the Square, Stitches and Nails, and The Cawlfield Law firm, generously participated through donating event space, alterations, and sweet treats for the shopping day. The idea is to create a memorable event for young women to select dance attire with dignity and hopefully, providing them with confidence to enter their homecoming dance in style.

Counselors and educators from Celina, Gunter, Prosper, and Rock Hill High Schools are invited to share the free dress shopping event with students who will benefit from this unique offering. Students RSVP through a unique QR code and are encouraged to bring a parent or guardian to the event. There are no qualifying factors involved to attend and all students are welcome.

How can you support Helping Hands of Celina and the free Homecoming shopping event? Donate dance appropriate attire and accessories to any HHOC drop-off location. Follow Helping Hands of Celina on Facebook for event updates.
