Spice Up Cocktail Hour with this Buttery Bourbon Apple Cider

Nothing beats snuggling up to warm cocktail during the holidays. This buttery, pumpkin spiced hot apple cider will hit the spot. It’s an ode to fall in a cup.

Spiced Butter Ingredients

½ cup butter (or ½ stick), softened

2 Tbsp dark brown sugar

1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

¼ tsp cinnamon

Cider Ingredients

4 cups apple cider or unfiltered apple juice

2 cinnamon sticks

1 Tbsp fresh orange juice

1/2 or 3/4 cup bourbon (depending on how strong you like it)

Optional: apple slices, orange slices and star anise for garish

Directions

Blend spices into the softened butter and pack into a small ramekin. (Leftovers are great on toast!)

In a medium pot, bring cider and orange juice to a simmer on the stove. Add cinnamon sticks and continue simmering until infused with cinnamon flavor – about 10 minutes.

Turn off heat. Add bourbon and stir.

Pour into four mugs and top with a dollop of spiced butter. Optional: Garnish with apple slices and star anise. Cheers!
