To pursue a career in real estate, Venice’s Darlene Curiazza had to forge her own way. Born and raised in New Jersey, Darlene comes from a family of Italian restaurant owners. Her parents and grandparents expected her to follow in the family tradition. And while Darlene did for a while with success, as a young woman with three young children, she also decided to choose her own path.
“I got my first real estate license when I was 25,” Darlene explains. “I owned three Italian restaurants/pizzerias on the Jersey Shore, but real estate was my passion, even if it was different from what my family did. So in the beginning, I had to juggle the restaurants, the kids, and my real estate career. I have no idea how I did it. The only thing I can say is that I was young.”
Five years ago, Darlene relocated to Venice, pursuing an opportunity in advertising sales, another field she has had lots of experience and success with. In previous years, Darlene spent many winter holidays in the Sarasota area, but once she explored Venice, she knew the quaint little town was for her. Now a resident of Wellen Park, Darlene is extremely knowledgeable of the real estate market in Venice and the surrounding communities. She is a Sales Agent for Gulf Shores Realty. Through her professional life, Darlene has developed the work ethic and refined skills to completely understand the specific needs of her customers and to deliver the highest level of service.
“I offer knowledge about the area and search for my client’s perfect property,” Darlene explains. “I love seeing the buyers’ faces when they first see their new home. I love their excitement and knowing that I nailed it. I also enjoy working with sellers to provide them with the best strategies on marketing their properties.”
In this current competitive sellers' market, Darlene offers these tips to buyers: "In order to be prepared to act quickly, get pre-approved by a bank or have proof of funds early in your search," she says. "To purchase a home in this market, you have to move quickly and can’t think about it too long."
