How we gather has drastically changed due to the pandemic, and with the change in lifestyle has come many pivots in home life and business life as we all adapt and try to stay afloat. For Chloe Csadenyi-Benson, founder of the community and events platform, Gather Seattle, the pandemic has brought out a new level of ingenuity and creative spirit as she pivoted to an online focused community soon after Covid started by hosting visual gatherings and an 8-week long group program.
Gather Seattle started back in January 2017, and has grown into a community of over 10k people through in-person events, gatherings, and panel discussions all focused on providing inspiring opportunities for conversion and connection. With a heavy-hitting lineup of speakers including Sage Ke'alohilani Quiamno, Karen Okonkwo, Katie Hackworth, Sarah Adler, Kennesha Buycks, Linda Derschnag and more, Gather Seattle events were never short on attendees.
Chloe remains optimistic about the future of gathering and still finds much joy in setting the table. Intimate dinners with family or a few close friends feel really special now. Since we’re all at home more often, why not pull out your favorite handmade ceramics or china, light a few candles, open a bottle of wine, and find reason to celebrate the ordinary moments in an intentional way. There are numerous restaurants and shops offering gourmet take-out options so if cooking isn’t your thing that doesn’t need to prevent you from enjoying a nice meal. In effort to find ways to support more of her favorite local businesses, makers, and restaurants, Chloe will be launching a new component of her business this fall that will focus on curated boxes for at home gatherings. Until then, she gives us inspiration with the products featured here:
