Rice Village chosen as first Texas location for New York City Favorite Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

Rice Village just got a little sweeter with the announcement that acclaimed Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will be its newest tenant this spring. Starting as a NYC food truck in 2008, Van Leeuwen has since grown to a crowd favorite, rapidly expanding to multiple brick and mortar stores along the east and west coasts. The cult-favorite ice cream brand will open its doors at 2565 Amherst St, in Rice Village, during spring 2021.

Van Leeuwen offers over 30 dairy and vegan ice cream flavors made with only quality ingredients using only simple recipes. Best of all, these incredible flavors are made without any junk. A few of the most celebrated favorites include Chocolate Fudge Brownie and (Vegan) Cookie Crumble Strawberry Jam. The Rice Village location is set to open with a flavor specifically created to celebrate Van Leeuwen’s expansion to Texas.

“We couldn’t be happier to be expanding to the Houston area. With its established ties, walkability, and bustling community, we knew Rice Village was perfect for our first venture into the Lone Star state,” said CEO and co-founder, Ben Van Leeuwen.
