If Music is the Food of Love, Play On, Give Me Excess of it

The Freedom in Music Project

Since 2011, The Freedom in Music Project has been providing hope through the power of music. The purpose of the program is to bring permanent music and basic recording rooms into New Mexico’s long term youth detention centers. I was honored to speak with Phil Oliveira, President of RiseN Music Ministry and The Freedom in Music Project.

Phil said he has always been a Romantic Idealist. Phil has been inspired by so many things, the arts, poetry, music, and nature. This incredible world that was given to us as a gift has provided stories about GOOD human beings, but most of all, HELPING other people less fortunate than myself. Turning "KIDS" on to the power of music!  Music is probably number ONE because he firmly believes that the vibrations from the music have the POWER to heal and it's UNIVERSAL!

Freedom in Music Project has donated 227 Acoustic and Classical Guitars and have Guitars at 27 Facilities,22 in New Mexico 3 in Texas, in Colorado and 1 in West Virginia!  Their 10th Annual Blues Festival/Fund Raiser is coming up in October.  There are so many people to THANK over the past 10 Years that have Helped us, especially Musicians.
