This old weathered recipe box holds the treasures of my childhood, dating all the way back to my great grandmother. As I stare at it, I stand in awe of the amazing Southern Georgian women in my family and how they shared and poured out their love so thoughtfully by preparing ingredients to make the most perfect dishes to serve to their families through the generations. The tattered, wrinkled and worn handwritten recipe cards are unique by each one's purpose and categorized in such an orderly fashion. They have lasted through many decades in the kitchen and will live on through my daughter and her legacies.
