I'm Just Charlie From RVC. Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Charles Silecchia · Rockville Centre, NY

The Rockville Centre kid who made it on Wall Street and came back home.

The closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange does not ring for just anyone. Getting on that floor means something. And when Charlie Silecchia stood there and pulled that cord, he had the kind of credential you spend a whole career chasing.

"I'm just Charlie from RVC," Silecchia says.

The Silecchia family moved to Rockville Centre in 1977 when Charlie was 10. He grew up in this village, went to St.Agnes Grammar School, Chaminade High School, then Villanova University, where he played soccer. He coached travel soccer in these same neighborhoods for 12 years after that — not for the resume, but because when a place gives you something, you give it back. He raised three kids on the South Shore and watched them rise as soccer stars at South Side High School. This was always home and he never let himself forget it.

His career took him far. Sixteen years at Bear Stearns, rising to Managing Director. Over a decade managing a family office hedge fund. He was a trader — not a financial advisor — and when he decided to open his own firm with Edward Jones he had one demand.

He wanted the branch in Rockville Centre.

"They took a chance on me," Silecchia says. He did not walk in with a book of clients or a ready-made practice. He was starting fresh in a new role, in a new chapter. But Edward Jones believed in what he could build here. And he already knew exactly where he wanted to build it.

By 2021, he had opened his own branch. Right across the street from St. Agnes Cathedral. He had come all the way around.

"I will do what's best for the client, not for me," Silecchia says. That is not a tagline. Ask any of his clients and they will tell you the same thing.

His clients range from former Wall Street colleagues, to girls in their 20s he coached on the soccer field, just starting out their financial lives for the very first time. He is the through line for all of them.

As a financial advisor, Silecchia works with families on everything from investment strategies to retirement planning to life insurance. He listens to each person's story before he recommends anything. If you come to him with a guaranteed 7% pension return already locked in, he will tell you to keep it — even if that means walking away. He figures out where you are before he says a word about where you should go. Because your life is not a template and he is not interested in treating it like one.

Offering long-term care options for his clients is personal. Silecchia watched his grandfather struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Having a long-term care policy in place made it possible to fund 24-hour care when the family needed it most. He carries that story into every conversation about planning for the future, because he has seen firsthand the difference it makes when the right protection is already there.

Now he is expanding — the space next door, once a candy store, is being transformed into a full branch with six advisors and three administrators, fully operational by October.

He is just Charlie from RVC. And he is exactly where he always wanted to be.

If you have never sat down with a financial advisor before, Charlie Silecchia is the place to start. If you have, and something never quite felt right, he is also worth a conversation.

He works with clients at every stage — people just starting to save, families planning for retirement, business owners thinking about what comes next, and anyone who has ever worried about what happens if a parent gets sick and the plan isn't there. Investment management, retirement strategies, life insurance, long-term care planning: the range of what he does reflects the range of people he serves, because no two situations look the same and he has never pretended otherwise.

He is 59 years old. He has built this practice from nothing, in the town where he grew up, surrounded by people he has known most of his life. He plans to keep going for another 15 years. That is not ambition for ambition's sake. That is someone who found exactly what he was supposed to be doing and exactly where he was supposed to be doing it.

If you are on the South Shore and you are ready to talk, his door is open. It always has been.
