Shakespeare Animal Fund, a 21-year-old nonprofit, has come to Alachua County with one mission: to help pay emergency veterinary bills for elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals with suffering or dying pets and not enough money for treatment.
After raising well over a million dollars in Nevada, Shakespeare has now opened a branch here and is seeking volunteers, board members, and sponsors.
Many people go without food and other essentials to save for vet care—and still fall short. That’s where Shakespeare steps in.
