The city of Loveland is a living canvas. Bold, vibrant murals splash across its historic streets, weaving stories of history, people and community pride. Each masterpiece transforms brick walls into bursts of color and meaning, turning every corner into a moment of discovery. In Loveland, art isn’t always framed—it’s alive and waiting to be found.
Angels By the Trail
The Angels by the Trail mural transformed a plain, industrial wall on the Eads Hardware building into a radiant memorial along the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Designed by David Jonathan Creative, the 65x20-foot graffiti-style masterpiece features vibrant angel wings surrounded by the names of local school-aged children who passed too soon. Celebrating their lives with bold colors and joyful whimsy, the mural is a heartfelt tribute and a source of beauty for the community. The site also includes benches and landscaping, offering a serene space to reflect and honor these cherished Angels.
Cappy’s Wall
The vibrant mural on the side of Cappy’s Taproom and Bottle Shop is a colorful celebration of community and nature, aptly entitled “Livin’ the Dream.” This striking artwork captures the charm of Loveland with its serene river, lush greenery, and hot air balloons drifting across a radiant sky. The mural embodies the spirit of Loveland’s outdoor culture and welcoming vibe, serving as both a local landmark and a stunning backdrop for visitors. It’s a perfect reflection of Loveland’s unique character, inviting everyone to stop, smile, and soak in the dream.
Fraternal Order of Eagles Wall
The stunning mural on the side of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in downtown Loveland soars with pride and beauty. At its heart, a powerful eagle flies over the peaceful river, symbolizing strength and unity. The Loveland Castle stands prominently in the background, honoring the town’s history, while the bike trail winds through lush greenery, reflecting the active, outdoor spirit of the city. The bold “Loveland 3006” emblem ties it all together, representing the Eagles’ local chapter. This eye-catching mural is a celebration of Loveland’s cherished landmarks and the community that thrives around them.
SAW Pilates Wall
The SAW Pilates building on Wall Street radiates joy and color, thanks to a striking mural by acclaimed local artist Tom Post. Inspired by owner Annette Friesner’s children, the artwork features their daughter Wren’s wild golden curls surrounded by vibrant flowers, fluttering butterflies and symbolic birds—a raven for brother Silas and a blue jay for brother Abe. Created after COVID to help bring life back to the community, the mural reflects resilience, family and renewal. Its striking design not only brightens a busy Loveland intersection, but also tells a heartfelt story, transforming the building into a vibrant landmark full of personal meaning and community pride.
Brown’s Crossing Train
Tucked on the side of the iconic “Brown Building” at Jackson Street Market, this dynamic mural brings the past roaring to life. It’s a tribute to the railroad roots that once fueled this town, where steam engines thundered through the Pennsylvania Railroad Park, and daily mail and passengers poured in. The mural captures a time when Loveland was a bustling railroad hub, transporting both goods and people to Cincinnati in just over half an hour. Created by Higher Level Art Inc., it’s a colorful homage to the town’s rich history.
West Loveland Ave. Mural
In late 2022, Loveland High School senior Louise Vermeil brought a splash of creativity to West Loveland Ave. when she transformed a dull retaining wall into a spirited mural celebrating Loveland’s charm. Showcasing landmarks like the Little Miami River, Loveland Castle and Historic Downtown, the mural pops with whimsical details—bikes, kayaks and Vermeil’s signature bold colors. Inspired to beautify her hometown, Louise pitched the idea to city leaders, who embraced her vision and helped bring to life a mural that now radiates pride and joy across the entire community.
