Classic cocktails with a fall twist to bring in the changing season

Move over pumpkin spice everything! Autumn is more than just the PSL take-over. As summer collapses into fall, it’s evident in both the weather and now the drinks to imbibe. By gaining inspiration from classic cocktails and infusing them with warm spices and the flavors of fall, liquid libations are thoughtfully prepared to match the season and create unique flavor experiences.

Wilbur's Total Beverage has exactly what any home and professional mixologist needs to create tasty cocktails. The friendly staff at Wilbur's is ready to help. Not only carrying the liquor brands you know and love, Wilbur’s also has a wide range of local products, because Colorado excels in more than just beer.

The classic Cosmopolitan was the inspiration for the Spiced Cosmo. This is perfect for any party or gathering, and can easily be made in an infusion jar, where guests can pour themselves one. The fresh cranberries add a zip of flavor, rounded out by the warming spices of cinnamon and clove. Breckenridge vodka and Naranja orange liqueur are the perfect combo for this cosmo.

Swap out a few traditional ingredients for others that are uniquely fall, and you have a whole new kind of margarita. Instead of a salted rim, a cinnamon sugar rim is reminiscent of an apple pie and complemented with the apple cider inside this margarita. Suerte tequila with citrus and vanilla undertones is the tequila of choice. Naranja orange liqueur has the perfect bitter orange nose while providing an unparalleled orange flavor. Fresh lime keeps the spirit of the margarita, while the sweet and sour is replaced with apple cider. Perfect for sipping on a cool fall afternoon.

Fall cocktails couldn’t get simpler or more elegant than this mimosa. Simply pair your favorite sparkling wine, we chose La Marca Prosecco for its delicate and slightly sweet flavor. The addition of apple cider keeps the integrity of the sparkling wine while making it the perfect autumn drink. If you make your own apple cider, extra points for what you can call a homemade autumn mimosa!

As the leaves change and the temperatures drop, it is the perfect time to snuggle up in some wool socks and a cozy sweater and enjoy some fall cocktails. To ensure your spirits are of the highest quality, head over to Wilbur’s Total Beverage. Wilbur’s has been the #1 Fort Collins liquor store not only for their vast selection of wine, beer, and liquors but also for their knowledgeable and friendly staff, ready to help you create incredible cocktails, no matter the season.
