Local insurance agent Kathy Sims has been serving clients with Alfa Insurance for a decade.
I asked her if her office being run by a woman makes it special.
“I feel as a woman that I do go the extra mile for clients, as well as have empathy for clients – I’m not looking at what I will earn, but more of how I can actually help someone,” she said.
“I grew up in a small hometown business environment and know the importance of customer service,” she continued. “Personal and professional service is not an expression, but a promise I take very seriously for my customers – those who have placed their trust not only in Alfa Insurance, but in me.”
Sims said there are some things about her career that have surprised her.
“At a young age, I always looked at insurance as being one of the professions that I would never do or want to do,” she laughed. “But it is a very lucrative career, as well as fulfilling in the sense that I get to really help people.”
She also had advice for young women just beginning to think about what kinds of insurance they might need.
“Make sure that you have good coverage for your home and automobile, as well as your life,” she explained. “The younger you are when you get your life insurance set up and get associated with a good insurance company on all your insurance needs, the better you will be throughout your life.”
Sims’ office is located at 3188 Alabama Highway 157, Cullman, AL 35058. She serves the communities of Cullman, Vinemont, Holly Pond, Hanceville, West Point, Good Hope, Crane Hill and Arley with insurance products including auto, home, life, commercial, renters and health.
“My goal is to be easily accessible to all my clients and put their needs first,” she smiled.
