You don’t have to talk to Paul McAlary for long before you realize this is a man who loves kitchens. He traces his passion for countertops, cabinetry and appliances back to the kitchen in his family’s first home, an apartment in Queens, New York, that rivaled the Cramdens' kitchen in the 1950s sitcom The Honeymooners for worst designed. As a toddler, he enjoyed playing with his toys in a cabinet under the kitchen sink behind a skirt his mother made to hide the cabinet.
