It’s not about the weight you lose, but the health you gain!

The new year brings about resolutions. A popular one is to lose weight. People flock to gyms or look for the latest fad diet saying, “This is the year I will stick to it”. Research suggests that only 9% of Americans will actually stick to their resolutions and 43% quit by the end of January. Why?

To lose weight, you must change your eating habits. To keep it off, you need to change your lifestyle with focus not only on nutrition, but movement and mindset. Mindset is the component that many do not think about. Changing our relationship with food and the verbiage we use about ourselves and our actions is key to long term success!

In my clinic, the focus is on both physical and mental well-being, not just the weight lost. We find each person’s “why” and set small goals along the way and celebrate every scale and non-scale victory. We meet weekly not only to follow progress, but talk about obstacles and how to work through them. Our time together provides accountability and allows for education on food value and how to navigate life events to meet personal goals. Together we will achieve success!
