Joe Seamon, a Meybom realtor who runs J Properties Group, has worked his way to the top in the real estate world.

After working with his dad for twenty-five years, Joe decided to branch off and start a new career. “I was able to come into real estate and have great success fairly quickly. I have a strong work ethic that I learned from my dad. Had I not been in our business situation, I don’t think the real estate industry would have been so good to me,” says Joe.

While being a successful realtor, Joe also knows how important it is to make family time a priority. Joe and his wife Hope have four sons; Keyton (and his wife Laura), Bill, Kessler, and Kaede. Hope is the Operations Manager for J Properties Group and Kessler and Kaede also pitch in.

Joe knows that if you are preparing to list your home for sale, you want to get the best return on investment (ROI). He has shared with us the top updates to do when you are selling your home.

Garage Doors

A new garage door will increase the curb appeal, energy efficiency, and improve the safety and security of your home.

Entry Door

Buyers will stand at the front entry while their agent accesses the lockbox and home. Nothing says “Welcome” like a new door.

Windows (vinyl/wood)

A home inspector will inform buyers of the age of the windows. Buyers prefer energy-efficient windows.

Siding (vinyl/cement board)

New siding provides “low maintenance,” an updated look and great curb appeal.

Kitchen

Minor kitchen updates: painted cabinets, new countertops, backsplash, matching appliances, lights, faucet, and cabinet hardware.

Bathroom

Minor bathroom updates: new vanity, reglazed tub and tile, new flooring, lights, fan, mirror, faucet, towel bars and toilet paper holder.

Paint

Paint is the easiest and most affordable way to update your home. Choose neutral colors like light grays, soft grays or beiges, or whites.

Floors

Flooring (luxury vinyl plank) is the new favorite for buyers. Luxury vinyl planks are more affordable and durable than hardwood.
