Ready for a Weekend Getaway?

Historic Fernandina Beach, where there is always something new to discover, whether its your first visit or your 20th.

Roughly 100 miles northeast of Gainesville is a seaport village called Fernandina Beach. Fernandina Beach is the northernmost town in east Florida on Amelia Island. It has over 2,450 acres of waterfront and miles of pristine beaches. Fernandina Beach was created to be the beginning of the first cross-state railroad, that went from Amelia Island to Tampa, but track could not be laid across marshes. So Fernandina Beach became home to pirates, bootleggers, millionaires and shrimpers.

Now the historic downtown has shops and restaurants along its quaint streets. Close by is the historic Fort Clinch State Park with its beautiful views and rich history and the 13 miles of beaches boast clear beautiful waters. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
