Longtime Bellevue staple Foryu Furnishings carries a collection of unique pieces to complement a well designed home. Bellevue Lifestyle connected with Manager and Evaluator Victoria Seufert to learn more about this charming store.
Tell us a little about the history of Foryu.
Foryu was established over 35 years ago as a small consignment shop in the Crossroads location in Bellevue, and after several years moved to its now Landmark location. In the 1980’s the founders of Foryu transferred their ownership, and previous owners and our current private owner have carried and lived by the light of integrity that our founders created.
What kinds of things can customers expect to find at Foryu?
You will find a wide variety of good quality furniture, accessories, lighting, and artwork. We always like to use the term pre-loved on our consigned items, because our goal for our consignors is to count on us to find new homes for their cherished pieces, knowing that our valued Foryu customers will appreciate them.
What is one of the most unusual or wonderful things that you’ve seen for sale at Foryu?
We offer a little bit of everything when it comes to furniture, accessories, and art. A few memorable items we have sold are: A 1950s steampunk suitcase that was converted into a coffee table, two large circular Restoration Hardware Chandeliers, a green pebbled leather curved Roche Bobois sofa sectional, Salvador Dali framed art, vintage chinoiserie cannister table lamp and many more.
What do you like about being part of the Bellevue community?
Our customers are like family. There is a sense of relaxation and familiarity when they visit our store, it’s like your local neighborhood hangout. It also brings us joy when we hear from customers that coming to our store makes them feel good. The local community are our valued patrons, and we strive to create a long-lasting relationship with all our customers, vendors, and consignors.

We are proud to have a great team of staff members who can assist you in every step of the consignment and buying process. Just like our store, our team is also unique and eclectic – we have lots of laughter and stories with our customers and it makes the buying process more enjoyable.
