The music is pumping. Happy chatter fills the room as women rotate through their stations according to the wall-mounted screens. There’s an occasional grunt of exasperation, whoop of success and hearty clang of weight machines. Stepping into Peaches & Gains immediately fills you with a sense of community.
“Our weight training classes focus on women’s health and wellness, teaching women that it’s ok to workout,” says Brooke Broz, owner and coach at Peaches & Gains in Parker. “Each person has their own progress and they work out according to what the televisions say. The coaches go through the books each week to ensure progression. It builds a camaraderie.”
Officially opening in February 2024, Peaches & Gains has 200 female members and 150 punchcards. They also train local sports teams and are working to get into elementary and high schools to promote healthy lifestyles.
“They (girls) come in and say they want to be skinny,” Brooke states, “and I tell them you want to be strong.” As a professional bodybuilder and trainer, Brooke knows how hard the high school years can be for girls and wants to help them advocate for themselves and create a safe space to do so.
With classes starting as early as 5 in the morning and ending at 7 at night, Peaches & Gains rocks all day long. Classes range from open gym sessions to HIIT, self-defense and co-ed kickboxing.
While Peaches & Gains is for women, men can attend kickboxing classes. “We decided if we were going to allow husbands and boyfriends in, we needed to be able to hit them,” Brooke teases. Joking aside, seeing men help advocate for their partners is part of their secret sauce. With plans to expand her space by March 2025, Brooke hopes to have one room specific for kickboxing and HIIT cardio classes with another room for machines and weight training.
In addition to her Parker expansion, Brooke is working to build a second Peaches & Gains location in Castle Rock sometime in 2025. She’s excited to bring her dream to a new place to help build confidence for more women.
One of Brooke’s favorite things about her female-centered business is learning from older women. “I love when older women teach me something I didn’t realize, and then I’m able to give back to them.” Having ladies training from all walks of life promotes a more profound connection at Peaches & Gains.
Brooke’s biggest success stories evolve from her six-week training challenges. Some women have seen as much as a 30-pound weight loss after these intense sessions. For January, Peaches & Gains offers a six-week challenge, which keeps you locked into that special price into February.
Starting a new venture can be overwhelming, but Brooke’s advice for beginners is simple: “Just get yourself through the door, and if you can’t, have someone come with you to get you through the door.”
