On a November evening at Villa at the Vineyards, over 250 guests gathered for an extraordinary cause: unlocking freedom for children half a world away. Rescue One More, the Dripping Springs-based nonprofit combating child sexual violence in Uganda, hosted its fourth annual fundraising gala, and the results were nothing short of remarkable.
“Our goal is to raise funds to bring safety, justice, and healing to child survivors in Uganda while celebrating the incredible impact our community is making,” says Rescue One More CEO and co-founder Scott Lambie. “To say this year’s event was a success would be an understatement. With the help of our partners, volunteers, and the generosity of our community, we exceeded our expectations.”
Co-hosted by Dripping Springs City Lifestyle and sponsored by Ranches At, the evening showcased the best of Hill Country hospitality. Guests enjoyed cocktails from A Drink to Remember, authentic African entertainment, and dinner from Hays City Store, all while guests connected with neighbors who share a passion for protecting vulnerable children.
The heart of the evening came when Scott, along with co-founders Sarah and Vanessa Lambie, shared stories of lives transformed through the community’s support. Board member and survivor Lillian Butele Kelle delivered a powerful testimony of hope and restoration that left few eyes dry.
“Once again, we were completely blown away by the generosity of our friends and neighbors,” Scott says. “They gave enough to help us respond to 208 new cases of child abuse, trafficking, and exploitation.”
Since its founding in 2021, Rescue One More has responded to approximately 900 cases, providing rescued children with safe housing, legal advocacy, and comprehensive emotional and physical health support. The
organization also runs prevention programs in a country where sexual violence against children remains widespread.
The Cunningham Sisters provided musical entertainment before All Hat No Cadillac closed out the night with dancing to favorite '90s country covers—a perfect Texas ending to an evening of global impact.
