Enjoy the little things in life, now more than ever and all the beautiful people as we start back into what is the new normal, which still feels not normal—not really being able to hug or shake hands, let alone touch your face; leery of seeing our seniors to make sure not to get them sick. Our new staple is seeing everyone wear masks and bringing their sanitizer with them everywhere. Our only choices are to pivot our lives and our businesses to this new time in our life.
For me, what brings me comfort is the things that feel familiar. We have canceled all of our planned trips, for the moment. Even though we love traveling, it just doesn't feel like the right thing to do at this time. After going through this Covid-19 pandemic and being asked to be socially distant at home, I fell in love with my home all over again. There is a comfort in making your home your happy place and your safe zone.
We have started to take more time caring for our garden and our fruit trees and we’ve been enjoying small outside dinners in our backyard with food from local restaurants as well as many home-cooked meals. Really having the downtime to enjoy all of our possessions has opened my eyes and filled my heart. With all the time we had off, we have simplified our home and our possessions and certainly decluttered. The pride in having a beautiful place to lay our head and entertain our family and friends is something we have always enjoyed.
So, a staycation is back on my list. For me it was a hidden blessing spending all that time at home baking and cooking and just not having any expectations other than trying to stay safe. My garden and my home are my paradise; we work so hard every day and some of us never stop to smell the roses. Well, if nothing else, I know many of us that have done that. When things return to the new normal, remember this time and how precious life really is.
Be LOVE! Spread LOVE!
