Health Is Your Wealth: Be the Best Version of Yourself

We all know what that should mean, but with all of our knowledge, many of us still don’t eat right or take enough time for ourselves. We need to put ourselves on the top of the list before our cars or even our homes. Do you have health and wellness maintenance? We make a list or a plan for everything else. Let's start this year with a list of how we’re planning on keeping ourselves healthy—if you're not already doing that. Most of us know the basics to good health and wellness. Eat well; try to leave out the sugar and include lots of veggies and great healthy food. Sleep is another great thing; it gives our body time to refuel and recharge. Daily exercise is so important. Walking is like food for your bones and joints. There’s also getting our homes in order, so we have less stress. If you have a health problem, take care of it while it's small.

Write things down, as doing so sends a bigger message to our brains. Make sure you’re reading, and even playing cards is good for your brain every day. So many of us really don’t think about this, but even the circle of friends we surround ourselves with can improve our outlook on how we see the world and help us to live in a positive way.

Giving back actually has a very positive effect on us also; if you have not done it lately, you’ll appreciate the feeling, I’m sure.

Your health is determined by the many moments that make up your day, so remind yourself to be kind to yourself and to actually nurture yourself. Start your day in a positive way, limiting yourself to only positive news until the moment you close your eyes, and end your night with being grateful for all you've experienced. Remember to do monthly check-ins, and if you have fallen behind, don't beat yourself up, just restart. Be mindful.

Remember, we all have the same opportunity to be the best version of ourselves. Are you doing that for you? We all know the saying, “Put your own oxygen mask on first, so you can not only help yourself but others too. Another one is “Fill your cup first so you can be the best version of yourself.”

Happy New Year to the Best New You!
