Home-Grown Realtor Inspires the Next Generation

The rolling hills, Friday night lights, and a small-town community filled with mom-and-pop shops are just a few of the things that local realtor Kim Burke loves most about Dripping Springs. Living in the area since 2005, Kim has witnessed so much growth, yet appreciates how neighborly the town remains.

After working for 14 years in the beauty industry, Kim got her real estate license and began working for Sotheby’s International Realty in 2007. It wasn’t the easiest road to begin working in real estate during a mortgage crisis, but Kim’s passion for personal relationships and commitment to the process helped her achieve top five percent status in her company since 2009. “I love developing very deep relationships with my clients,” she said. “I build my business on each and every referral.”

Kim is passionate about sharing what she’s learned with the next generation. She works with her daughter, Piper, who plans to join the family business full-time after completing college at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Piper studies communication, marketing, and real estate. Both of Kim’s children have thrived in the excellent Dripping Springs school system since Kindergarten. Her son, Paxton, is a sophomore at Dripping Springs High School. “He has overcome learning disabilities with the help of the school system,” she shared. “The most comforting thing is to have an inspiring teacher who supports your son during the day and then encourages him at church every Sunday.”

Kim is committed to helping build the community where she lives and works. In addition to spending time with her children and friends, Kim has served as a PTA volunteer and is currently vice president of Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals.

Community and family values are paramount to Kim. It’s those values that connect her so deeply to Dripping Springs. “That small town feel you get when wandering through the shops on Mercer Street, watching loved ones ride horses at Ranch Park, or chatting with neighbors in the aisles of H-E-B – these are all things that make Dripping Springs unique and a desirable place to live. I love living and working here!”
