As we enter the season of sparkling lights, good cheer, and constant busyness, it can be easy to get lost or overwhelmed. Sometimes we forget the true meaning of Christmas in the face of corporate glitz and glimmer, and many come out the other side of the holiday feeling hollow and dejected rather than bolstered by hope and “the good will of men.”
But there still stands a light; an unflickering candle amongst the parades and pageants, the craft fairs and office parties, the family disputes and extensive shopping lists. Amongst all this, our local churches shine as a reminder of the heart of the Christmas season. A birth, a sacrifice, and a love so grand and unfathomable it’s still being celebrated two thousand years later.
So, if you are feeling alone this season, are looking for ways to give back to your local community, or like Charlie Brown, just find yourself struggling to remember what Christmas is really all about, here are just a few doors that are open to remind you.
