For the Love of Wine

La Bouche Is a Chic New Wine Bar in Denver Serving Up French and American Bottles, Platters, Pastries and More

Located in Uptown, Denver, La Bouche is a new, authentic wine bar that’s part French glamour, part laid-back American, with a premium selection of U.S. and French wines. The sophisticated yet fun atmosphere offers indoor table or bar seating and occupies abundant outdoor space, weather permitting.

La Bouche Managing Director Alexis Tréton says, “Our French influence brings Denver a new way to introduce wine to our customers.”

With wines on tap, by the bottle or served in flights, there’s plenty to sip and sample. La Bouche guides you through ordering similar glasses of grapes from both countries for your own personal taste-off.

Wine is known to be best paired to bring out its flavors, so order a cheese or charcuterie board for a variety of small offerings to nibble on. For those needing a little more to eat, there are scrumptious quiches; try the Lorraine or Vegetarienne, and decadent sandwiches like the Brasserie Croque-Monsieur with pain de mie, ham, cheese and béchamel, or the Madame, the same with an egg. You can also have a version of the Parisian classic sandwich, made with fresh baguette.

There are even beer, cocktail and non-alcoholic drinks available for those who aren’t as enthusiastic about wine as the others. Top the evening off with dessert: Might we suggest the macaron, a French specialty, and an espresso. If you remain undecided, just try the Café Gourmand and you'll get three pastries with your coffee.

Alexis says it’s the kindness of their great team, in addition to their wine selection, flights and croque-monsieur/madame sandwiches, that La Bouche is becoming known for. It’s not just about having customers come in to experience incredible wine, it’s also about celebrating that passion of indulgence with them.

“We share our passion about wine and want our customers discovering new wines, maybe some they wouldn’t try before. We want them to learn anecdotes about wine history and background. It’s not only a bottle; it’s filled with humanity,” Alexis says.

La Bouche is working on creating wine tastings and workshops in the coming months, and it recently opened its doors for Sunday brunch, meaning you can stop in for a cinnamon cappuccino, mimosa flight, or bloody Mary paired with a fresh croissant, French cake or Oeuf-cocotte, a baked egg with spinach, bacon, cream, fresh herbs and parmesan. Talk about a delightful way to kick off the day.
