We eagerly anticipate the Women’s Issue each year, as it allows us to honor the remarkable women who empower and uplift our community. Join us in celebrating five local women from Destin and the surrounding areas whose impactful contributions have deeply shaped and enriched the community. Their dedication, passion, and leadership continue to inspire and create lasting change.

Sarah Again

Sarah’s songwriting journey is a beautiful blend of resilience and heart, woven through a life rich with roles. From childhood poetry—words capturing what she couldn’t say aloud—to melodies reflecting her world as a mom of three, her path has been anything but linear. Her love for language ignited during Boggle and Scrabble games with her mom fueled a passion she kept private for years. A pivotal high school open-mic night, where she shared a song and sparked a connection with an aspiring singer, hinted at what could be. But life steered her into healthcare, leaving music as a quiet “what if?”

Sarah's album, “Stringing Myself ToGetHer,” will be released in spring/summer. It includes originals like “Everlasting” and “I Never Knew,” which reflect her spiritual, reflective, and spontaneous nature, and a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots are Made for Walking.”

Stephanie Bueno

Stephanie Bueno is a dedicated Realtor passionate about helping individuals and
families navigate their relocation journey. Having worked for several employers over the
years, she ultimately found her true calling in real estate, where she could combine her
love for community growth with her desire to make a meaningful impact in people’s
lives.
Growing up in a military family, Stephanie experienced firsthand the challenges of
frequent moves and living in various locations. “My family settled on the Emerald Coast
in 1994, and we were finally able to call this place our home.” Watching the area evolve
over the years, Stephanie developed a deep appreciation for its growth and saw an
opportunity to assist others in achieving their real estate dreams.
“Real estate is more than just buying and selling homes, it’s about creating
opportunities.” Whether helping first-time homebuyers achieve homeownership or
guiding investors in expanding their portfolios, she finds joy in making every transaction
a seamless and rewarding experience. Now, with her husband, Andy, joining her in the
business, the duo is committed to helping clients “Make Their Next Move a Bueno
Move!” On their spare time they participate in community cleanups to help keep the
area safe and beautiful.

Jessy Barnwell

Jessy Barnwell is just getting started with Foil + Pin Parlour. Jessy moved to Destin 6 years ago as more than just a military spouse and mother of 3. She has 11 years of salon ownership and 20 years of hair care experience.

“My love for what I do goes beyond creating beautiful looks; it’s about educating and helping others grow. Plan for retirement, build a savings account, learn proper time management, and proper communication skills. Life is about growth and not just earning a buck.”

Jessy’s passion for people matches her desire to better the earth, because the beauty industry can create so much waste, she has committed to minimizing her salon’s environmental impact.

“From using sustainable products to recycling materials, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. It’s a big passion of mine; besides, looking great and saving the world shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.”

Jessy enjoys giving back to the community. “I love sponsoring local youth sports, adopting a classroom, donating to church, and giving to less fortunate children and families.” At the end of the day, Jessy loves being with her family, spending time with neighbors, and relaxing by the beach.
