Roswell’s Stage for All Ages: Changing the world...one giggle, gasp, and standing ovation at a time!

Nestled between an AutoZone and Beefsnacks USA (seriously), lives a hidden gem of the arts world right here in Roswell …The Atlanta Workshop Players (AWP). Since 1981, this nonprofit powerhouse has been fueling Georgia and beyond with laughter, creativity, and a healthy dose of stage-worthy drama (the good kind). Whether you're 8 or 80, there’s a spotlight waiting for you.

AWP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization offering acting classes for kids, teens, and adults, teaching self-expression like it’s a superpower, and hosting weekly improv comedy shows that are actually funny and family friendly (no cringe, no cuss). Want more? Every summer, young performers flock to AWP’s acclaimed camps for training that is equal parts professional and playful. Think theater school meets summer camp, with more laughs and fewer bug bites.

AWP isn’t just a place to play pretend, it’s a launchpad for real careers in entertainment. Alumni have appeared in hit productions like Superman, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, Atlanta, Will Trent, Where the Crawdads Sing, English Teacher, Dexter: Resurrection, Blue Bayou, Team Kaylie, The Resident, The Ms. Pat Show, Elle, and many more. From major film sets to TV screens worldwide, Atlanta Workshop Players talent is everywhere and it all starts right here in Roswell.

And let’s not forget the comedy. The Improv Maniacs, AWP’s professional troupe, features performers who’ve appeared on SNL, The Conan O’Brien Show, national tours, sitcoms, and possibly your favorite bakery. Every Saturday at 7:30pm, they deliver fast-paced, family-friendly, side-splitting shows. Zero cursing. Maximum laughs.
