Nestled in the lively heart of downtown New Braunfels is a little shop full of sugar, smiles, and stories. Chelsea Rogers, owner of Le Petit Sweet and River Rose Boutique, talks about what started as a simple “This town needs a candy store!” idea quickly blossomed into a local favorite. She saw something missing in a downtown filled with restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. But, she didn’t just want to sell candy—she wanted to build a downtown staple that welcomes kids, families, and anyone craving a taste of something sweet.

And oh, the nostalgia! From peachy rings and chocolate-covered gummy bears to treats like McCraw’s flat taffy and Mallow Cups, this shop is a candy-coated time machine. If you’ve got a childhood favorite you haven’t seen in decades, there’s a good chance it’s on the shelf (or soon will be).

But this sweet spot is about more than sugar. It’s a place where memories are made and shared. People swap candy stories, kids giggle over those classic wax bottles, and seasonal events like “Mom and Me Mahjong” and Santa visits turn the shop into a downtown staple. It’s fun, it’s bright. It’s welcoming. It’s the perfect place to round out a fun-filled day.
