In communities built on connection and care, leadership matters and North Fulton Community Charities has found its next chapter in leader Amy Gates Stroud, Ph.D.
With nearly 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, she steps into the role of president with a clear sense of purpose: to strengthen the organization’s impact while continuing to serve as a vital lifeline for North Fulton families. NFCC has long been a cornerstone of the community, offering essential services ranging from food and clothing assistance to financial support and workforce development. Under Gates’ leadership, that mission is poised to grow even stronger. She arrives with a personal connection, her beloved uncle, Deacon Ed La House was a founding board member of NFCC and remained a passionate advocate of the organization until his death at age 92 in 2022.
Gates brings a unique blend of strategic insight and community passion. Most recently, she served in a senior leadership role focused on strategic partnerships and development within an Atlanta-based national nonprofit, 3DE, dedicated to advancing high school education. Her career also includes serving as the first executive director of the Roswell Arts Fund, where she helped shape the organization from the ground up.
Her approach is both thoughtful and forward-looking—grounded in collaboration, innovation, and measurable impact. With a Ph.D. in public policy and administration, along with advanced degrees in education and speech-language pathology, she has built her career around helping mission-driven organizations thrive.
Beyond her professional achievements, Gates is deeply rooted in the community she now serves, actively contributing her time and leadership across several local organizations.
As she steps into this new role, her focus is clear: build on NFCC’s strong foundation while expanding opportunities for individuals and families to achieve stability and long-term success.
Gates officially began her role last month, marking an exciting new chapter for both her and the organization and for the community that continues to rely on its support.
