Using greenery to transform spaces into vibrant and peaceful sanctuaries

Including plants in any space revitalizes the area, bringing fresh energy and added aesthetic appeal. Carrie Turner of Leafspace Designs makes bringing greenery into areas easy, fun, and stress-free. “Nature is extremely therapeutic. People love having plants in their space, but a lot of people feel like they have a brown thumb. They want green in their space but they’re not sure they can take care of it and be successful,” explains Carrie. “That’s where we come in; we bring nature to your space. Whether that is indoors or outdoors, we can help create the perfect space for you.”

Leafspace Designs creates, installs, and maintains garden spaces outside in the ground, in porch containers, or any outdoor living area. Indoor options include Growboards and Terrariums where greenery can be enjoyed and cared for easily.

Growboards, which add greenery in a uniquely vertical way, are one of the most popular indoor plant creations by Leafspace Designs. Growboards are 12x9 burned pine boards that include all natural items. Then, multiple boards can be arranged to create a themed wall of greenery. “We make the boards and install them, or we also do workshops to help people create their own,” says Carrie. “People can choose between preserved or living options. So those who want a green space but don't necessarily want to take care of it, or they think they are going to kill it, can choose the preserved option.”

Carrie has developed techniques and kits to ensure that creating Growboards is a fun and fulfilling activity. Whether customers build the boards during a workshop or order the kits online to do on their own, Carrie provides patterns and simple, but detailed, instructions to ensure each person creates a beautiful board.

Always on the lookout for inspiration, Carrie enjoys exploring outdoor spaces and gathering items to use in projects. “I like to try to mimic nature, so when I'm outside, I look around and collect unique things like rocks, wood, bark from a fallen tree, or seashells from the beach,” says Carrie. “I’ve done a woodland wonder themed workshop and a coral reef workshop, all using things I’ve collected. It’s a way I take my hobby of being in nature and bring that into my work.”
