Meet Legacy Hills Church - the uplifting community you have been looking for. Nestled inside Moore Middle School resides a message of faith, hope, love, community, and family. Legacy Hills Church is a one-year-old church plant that launched in August of 2023 and is led by Pastor Robert Welch.
Lead Pastor Robert and his wife Kyla are native Texans and have been married for 21 years and, together, they have three children. Robert has been lead pastor for 18 years in Texas, Louisiana, and North Carolina. He and his family love the city of Celina and are passionate about making Jesus the highest priority. When asked how he would like to see Celina in the future, he mentioned, “As we grow, I would love for us to be a bright light in a world of darkness…this is a unique community that rallies around its school system, that rallies around the needs of others, and has that small town feel.”
Starting Legacy Hills was an act of faith for Robert, but he knew that when the Lord calls, you move. “Legacy Hills started with just two families,” Robert stated. One of Robert’s good college friends and family moved to Celina, fell in love with the city, and spoke highly of it. While Robert would visit his friend, Celina became a second home. Little did Robert know that while visiting his friend the Lord was up to something bigger and greater behind the scenes. Robert’s friend told him, “Our city is growing so fast, we need more churches…we have to have more churches to reach people and to meet the spiritual needs of the community”. After laughing it off, his friend looked at him and said, “Robert, what about you?” But Robert began to pray and seek the Lord more about it, and church planting was placed on Robert’s heart. In the winter of 2022, Robert and Kyla came to Celina to pray and explore more of the city, and they felt the Lord calling them to do this, and. in June of 2022, they moved to Celina. Legacy Hills started with a vision - a vision for families. Both families had a vision to plant a church that would reach the people of Celina then establish a ministry that would go further than just Celina.
The mission of Legacy Hills Church is to “empower families to make Jesus the highest priority." Legacy Hills believes that God is the inventor of family. He invented families, and we are called to steward that well. Legacy Hills wants to help families make Jesus the highest priority and in that remind the people of Celina that Jesus helps navigate parenting, He helps us through the world that we live in, and when He is put first, He transforms the rest of our priorities. Legacy Hills wants to remind us Jesus gives our lives meaning.
Celina is a beautiful, vibrant city that is vastly growing and as the city continues to grow, businesses continue to thrive, and people continue to pour in, the spiritual growth of the people and city needs to grow as well. Amid everything that accommodates and meets the needs of the people in Celina, the spiritual well-being of our community needs to be continually met by the Biblical and family values of our city. Celina has high family values and with that comes sustaining those values and that can only be done with the help of Jesus.

Legacy Hills is passionate about families, their well-being, and the Kingdom of God. Legacy Hills is not only creating a legacy for families but also for the generations to come.
