If you’ve been looking for a more natural way to work on health and wellness, you might have heard of CBD. One Mesa family has combined their entrepreneur spirit and their love of health and wellness and opened up SunMed Your CBD Store. We asked some questions to learn more about CBD, keep reading for our conversation.

Q: What exactly is CBD?

Technically, CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is a natural occurring component in the hemp plant. All creatures with vertebrae have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) in their body which produces cannabinoids. CBD is the natural component that can be supplemented to regulate that system. Like many other natural components such as digestive enzymes, collagen, testosterone, estrogen, etc., many humans and pets produce less over time so adding CBD simply gets their body back into homeostasis, a very fancy word for inner balance or feeling better.

Q: Are there any mental effects of CBD?

Not in a negative way. Since CBD helps get the body back into homeostasis, when energy or focus is low, it can help improve that. Similarly, if sleep is what the body and brain need, it can help promote that too.

Q: What are the health benefits of CBD?

In short, it regulates the largest system of receptors in your body so the benefits can range from dealing with internal inflammation that causes everyday aches and pains, stress, sleep issues, weight gain, focus and many more.

Q: What is the biggest myth about CBD?

That taking it will result in psychoactive effects. SUNMED CBD is derived from hemp thus does not have that concern. Many professional jobs have "no tolerance" stipulations for their employees regarding THC (the component in the marijuana plant that gets people "high"). We are not a dispensary; we sell all natural supplements and none of the products come from the marijuana plant. Every product has been 3rd party tested to give our customers proof and reassurance.

Q: What is your #1 health & wellness tip?

Don't wait for pain or health issues to get to such an unbearable level that it jeopardizes your daily activities. Be proactive and when you address them be consistent and patient with routine. If the issue has been problematic for weeks or months, realize that one or two days of remedies will not fix everything.
