Let’s Talk about Rhinoplasty

As the center point of the face, the nose gets a lot of attention. When it complements and fits the rest of the face, this attention is balanced by the eyes, the lips, and the cheeks.  When the nose is out of proportion, whether it be too big, too wide, or crooked, it can dominate the face and draw unwanted attention.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to change or correct the shape, size, or function of the nose. It is highly customized for each individual patient but should never look “done”. Common issues that can be addressed include a hump or bump, a crooked nose, a broad or drooping tip, or a nose that is too big. Functionally, a rhinoplasty may correct breathing issues as a result of a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, or weak cartilage. When the septum is addressed at the same time as the nose, this is known as a septoplasty and may often be covered by insurance when breathing issues exist.

Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure and usually takes about 2-3 hours. Patients go home the same day. Many patients are surprised by how little pain they have and do not require any narcotic pain medication. Most patients go back to work or school after just one week.

Using 3D image technology, you and Dr. Fisher can plan and model your rhinoplasty in the office before ever setting foot in the operating room. This allows you to see your end result and clearly communicate your goals and vision during your consultation.
