To my bride,
With May 2024 descending upon us, I find myself in a continuous state of gratefulness for the life we have built together. This letter is certain to be a futile attempt at expressing my gratitude specifically as it relates to you. Seventeen years ago we started down this path of establishing a relationship that ultimately would be rooted in the truth of God’s grace—there is simply no other justification for how we’ve come to this moment. You have taught me a level of loyalty and love by your unconditional devotion to me and to our family. The faith in me that you have demonstrated for nearly two decades has enabled me to overcome deeply embedded insecurities I didn’t even know existed within me. You quite literally are the most beautiful human being I know, and the idea that you chose to marry me still confuses me at times. I mostly want to just say thank you. Thank you for being the mom you are to our boys. Thank you for being the bonus mom to our Isaac since he was a toddler. Thank you for your patience during this journey we’ve ventured on together that has not always been smooth sailing. You empower me to lead this family while being the true anchor. This month we will celebrate your birthday and Mother’s Day. On these two days, we will likely fall short in conveying just how special you are to us, but we will try our best nonetheless. I thank the Lord for you daily. I always have and I always will.
