Lighten Up at Westlake Body Contouring:

Light Therapy for Fat Loss & So Much More

When then-retired chiropractor Dianne Lalena Sandberg, D.C., first discovered the amazing power of LED light therapy to essentially “melt” fat and dissolve inches, she resolved to share this technology with the public.

Establishing Westlake Body Contouring in 2015, Dr. Dianne initially focused on the light therapy’s fat loss benefits and quickly realized the Contour Light’s benefits went beyond melting fat. In addition to the incredible fat loss results, Dr. Dianne’s patients experience relief from various health conditions, including chronic pain, arthritis and joint issues.

“It’s extremely exciting and gratifying to see the light easing the pain and improving the quality of life for so many people,” says Dr. Dianne. “Using the only device on the market that can actually treat large surface areas on the body, we have a patented reflective coating on the pads that increases the light energy to 10x and redirects it back into the tissue. No other device on the market has this capability or power.”

Since opening Westlake Body Contouring, Dr. Dianne has provided the opportunity for hundreds of people to experience the life-changing body-sculpting technology, including local celebrities and professional athletes.

“I enjoy seeing the look on my patients’ faces when they have just lost 3-6 inches after their first treatment,” says Dr. Dianne. “Finally, they see instant gratification and it’s a fabulous kick start for them.”

Q. What is the Contour Light and how does it work?

A. The health benefits of light have been used for centuries and documented NASA research confirms its effect on healing.

“The use of light as a natural form of energy from nature actually activates the normal biochemistry of the cell so that the cell tends to take from it what it needs,” explains NASA’s Harry Whelan, M.D., whose research found light-emitting diodes (LEDs) yielded a variety of benefits, including “faster healing of severe burns, difficult-to-heal wounds, muscle and tendon sprains, damaged nerves and eye injuries.”

The LED Light was originally developed by NASA to heal wounds before it was discovered that the technology also liquefies fat and opens fat cells, allowing fat to exit and shrink the cells. Fat burning is accelerated, metabolism speeds up and fat is flushed through the lymphatic system and is broken down and eliminated from the body. In addition, collagen and elastin are increased, tightening skin and creating a slimmer appearance.

The light increases blood flow to all areas of the body. When blood flow is increased to the pituitary gland, it increases serotonin, which we all need. When there’s more blood flow to the adrenals, it helps decrease cortisol levels, which helps patients relax and lose weight, promotes healing and reduces pain.

Q. What can people expect during a typical session with the Contour Light?

A. During the noninvasive, pain-free treatments, patients relax for about 25 minutes, lying on a comfortable table with LED light pads wrapped around the specific areas being treated. The LED light is not radiation or UV and penetrates using 635 nanometers of infrared and 880 nanometers of Near infrared NIR light.

Q. What conditions can be treated with light therapy?

A. People suffering from chronic joint injuries, back/neck pain, rheumatoid arthritis, concussion, traumatic brain injury, post surgical pain and neuropathy report faster healing, stress relief and pain relief as well as tighter skin, reduced wrinkles and fat loss from the light therapy.

“One rheumatoid arthritis patient had less pain and was able to completely stop taking medications for RA after weeks of light treatments,” says Dr. Dianne, noting the patient reported continued improvement, including reduced pain and swelling and more energy, with each session.

“The benefits are numerous,” adds Dr. Dianne. “Those with rosacea, under-eye bags and lines, acne and other skin conditions will want to experience how the light can improve these conditions by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and promoting healing.”

Q. How long does it take to see and feel results?

A. Clients’ measurements are taken pre- and post-treatment, allowing them to see the results of a single treatment right away. People often experience an average instant reduction of 3-5 inches from their waistlines, hips, arms and thighs in a single 25-minute session and often report continued results, even hours after the treatment.

Q. Are there any risks or negative side effects from this treatment?

A. There’s no bruising, no swelling, no burning or pain, no downtime nor is anesthesia required—the only side effect is losing fat and feeling better.

Q. Are all light therapy treatments effective?

A. Yes, most research and studies have been done on the same LED Light strength of 660 and 880 nm, which is the same strength as the light in our office.

Q. Do you have any specials for Conejo Valley Lifestyle readers?

A. We offer a $59 full-body introductory offer for all CVL readers.
