When Allie Sharkey started her Ms. Morristown Instagram account back in 2016, she had zero expectations for what it would become. What she did know was that she loved her town and wanted to share her favorite things with everyone she knew.
The focus wouldn’t be on her as an influencer, but on all the vibrant happenings around her—so Allie made the account faceless. A social butterfly, she highlighted her favorite spots for making friends and the businesses she kept going back to. It was a reflection of life at the time. And surprisingly, locals were interested, even without ever knowing who she was.
Allie soon began organizing in-person events, and that was the only time her identity was revealed. Her followers felt like they were in on an exclusive secret, and she turned into their favorite resource for all things Morristown.
All these years later, Ms. Morristown’s persona has evolved right along with real life. Allie got married last year and took followers on the bridal ride. From dresses to cake to the ever-important bridal shoes, she showed it all. Determined to stay authentic, as she experiences life, her followers do too.
But 2026 has brought Allie her most exciting evolution yet—motherhood. Little Ms. Morristown arrived this past February, and the newlyweds couldn’t be happier. It’s been a natural transition, and baby girl fits right in. Allie is also a proud stepmom to her nine-year-old stepson and has a furbaby rescue dog named Mars. Her family is growing, along with the excitement for tons of new local experiences.
I love how your content has changed as you’ve moved through different stages of life, from your wedding to now, motherhood.
With the wedding, it was very much real-time content. I did some teasers, then I announced it. I wanted to take everyone along for the ride. But during my pregnancy, I wanted to keep this for me. I created a registry with Baby Crossing, and I used content from it. For my baby shower, I hired a content creator to do a faceless video so I could share after the fact. I had the Neat Method come in and do the nursery. I worked a lot with Be Well for prenatal. But I didn’t post anything until she was born—maybe two weeks after. I’m just scratching the surface of mom content.
How has Little Ms. Morristown been so far?
I hit the baby jackpot! She sleeps throughout the night already! When we first brought her home, we had to wake her to feed her. We would have to set alarms, and then she would dream feed. Now she goes down at 10 and sleeps until around 7:30. And she’s a happy baby, very smiley, and very alert!
What are you looking forward to experiencing with her over the next few months?
I’m excited for her personality to come out, for her to have a favorite toy, or a favorite color. Now that it’s nice out, I want her to experience the world. I took her to see the penguins at the Turtle Back Zoo, and you could see the awe in her face. So, I’m looking forward to her experiencing the world and me getting to watch.
Any local spots you plan on taking her to?
She’s already been to the Grand Café, Town Bar & Kitchen, South and Pine, and Tatte. We’re definitely going to take some of the mommy-and-me classes at Be Well. And when she’s older, I can’t wait for her to try dance classes, maybe Irish dance, because I’m Irish. And I’m looking forward to taking her to a show at MPAC. They have such amazing shows for kids.
I know you mentioned you have a rescue dog named Mars. What was his reaction when you brought a new baby home?
I fostered Mars during COVID through an organization called Furever Home for Dogs in Randolph. When I went to pick him up, everything was wrong with him. He had worms, kennel cough, mites, fur patches—he was a mess. He was so scared, and it broke my heart. I knew I had to get him back to health. I have no idea what happened to him during his first 12 weeks of life, but it clearly wasn’t good. He doesn’t always respond well to change. I was so stressed about him meeting the baby! I was thinking he would feel jealous or regress. Well, he was completely fine and pretty much ignored her. He sniffed her a little and just walked away, and that’s still what he does now! He’s the sweetest dog.
And how was your stepson when he met her?
He’s been a great big brother! We wanted to ease him into everything when we brought her home, and he just dove into this big brother role. He wanted to feed her and hold her. It’s really cute. She’s very lucky. They’re going to be really close, I can tell.
Looking forward to the new experiences you’ll share with your daughter and the evolution of Ms. Morristown. What kind of example do you hope to show her as she grows up?
The first thing that comes to my mind is a strong work ethic. That’s something I want for her. My mom was a single mom, and she was definitely working really hard. I saw her struggles and the tough decisions she had to make. So, my daughter is having a very different life in that aspect. But I want her to know that you don’t have to fit in a box. Forging your own path is what I’m excited for her to see. There was no blueprint for what I did. A lot of it was figuring it out as I went. I’m excited to show her that mommy works hard, and then she gets to do these really cool things.
