Local Fall pairings to Sip, Savor & Repeat

Deep Roots Wine & Tasting Room staff share their favorites wines and chef pairings for you

There's something about autumn that makes a wine shop feel like a treasure hunt and at Deep Roots Roswell, the hunt was in full swing. The local DR team of ladies were asked to wandered the shelves on the search for the perfect bottles to bring home for the season. Their recommendations go from bold reds for cooler nights, to crisp whites for lingering porch evenings. Each bottle selected and picked with an eye toward the local chefs' pairings waiting to complete the plate.

Ride & Ridden Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon - Stephanie Saxon

This wine has a deep ruby core with aromas of shaved cocoa, black fruit, cinnamon, and sweet tobacco. It has a dense and polished texture with great length, balancing boldness and finesse.

I would pair this with Table & Main’s “Southern Steak Frites”.

Stoller Willamette Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir - Cate Stroud

The wine opens with aromas of grapefruit zest, orange peel, and delicate white flowers. The palate delivers flavors of fresh strawberry, watermelon, and juicy citrus, anchored by a hint of wet stone minerality.

I would pair this with 1920 Tavern’s Melon & Beet Salad.

Lioco Albariño - Jen Brown

This wine opens with vibrant aromas of green fruit, jasmine, and lime blossom. The palate features crisp flavors of green melon, white grapefruit, and Thai basil, backed by a laser-sharp acidity. It finishes with a clean, distinct mineral and sea-spray note.

I would pair this with Silla del Toro’s Gambas al Ajillo (Shrimp, garlic, sherry, parsley).

Stolpman Vineyards Love You Bunches Carbonic Sangiovese - Shannon Anderson

This wine opens with vibrant aromas of bright red raspberry, pomegranate, and violet. The light-bodied palate bursts with flavors of tart cherry, cranberry, and a hint of watermelon, evoking a crunchy, fruit-forward profile. Because of its unique whole-cluster carbonic fermentation, it is bone dry and packed with a refreshing, high-acid tang with minimal tannins, making it best served straight out of the fridge.

I would pair this with Osteria Mattone’s Margherita Pizza.

Materra Cunat Chardonnay - Meaghan Eustice

This wine opens with bright aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and sweet brioche. The palate features flavors of yellow pear and ripe nectarine, balanced by a creamy texture and a touch of lemon curd. It finishes with a crisp, mouthwatering acidity and pure fruit brightness.

I would pair this with Chelo’s Chilean Sea Bass and Sabzi Polo Rice.
