Local Farms

Discover Fresh Food and Fall Family Fun

Most people don't think of farms when they think of Arizona. But local farms offer leafy greens, citrus, tomatoes, and a variety of root vegetables. Now that fall is here, you can step out and experience the best of our local farms—and yes, many have pumpkins!

1—Blue Sky Organic
Blue Sky Organic Farms is a certified organic family farm in Litchfield Park with more than 120 vegetable varieties. New to the farm are two Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription boxes: the Classic with six or seven organic items per box and the Petite with four to five items. The farm store is open Wednesday through Friday noon to 5 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. Stop by to visit the animal pens and pastures or schedule a farm tour. 4762 N. 189th Ave, Litchfield Park. 2—Justice Brothers Ranch
Justice Brothers Ranch offers a year-round farm stand (fresh citrus in season), a seasonal U-Pick farm (check the website for fall/winter openings), and a pumpkin patch in October. Select the perfect pumpkin from the patch (prices vary by size), and then take it to the free decorating station. Feeling extra crafty? Check out the scarecrow-making station. 14629 W. Peoria Avenue, Waddell. JusticeBrothersUPick.com

3—Tolmachoff Farms
This family farm offers a produce stand, U-pick (June only), and a pumpkin patch and corn maze during October. Select a pumpkin grown right there on the farm (prices vary), and then wander through the 6-acre family corn maze. There is also a petting zoo, train ride, jumping pillow, corn box, kiddie corn maze and more! Admission is $15 and includes the mazes, petting zoo and play areas. Children 2 and under are free. Feel daring? Check out the AZ Field of Screams open Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween night in October. 5726 N. 75th Avenue, Glendale. Tolmachoff-Farms.com and AZFieldofScreams.com
