What began as a conversation during Snowmageddon has quickly become a local, downtown hot spot. The owners wanted to start something activity related, and axe-throwing fit that bill. Owner Collin Vaclavik says, “Axe-throwing is something that is a lot of fun to do and people from all walks of life can enjoy it. It’s the modern day bowling alley in a way, just with axes!” Thrown: Axe Co. opened in March of 2021 and began by renting out it's trailer. The rental includes an employee coaching and overseeing all throwers the entire time.The axe-throwing trailer has been rented out for parties and can be found at city events in Celina, Gunter, and Prosper. Vaclavik says, “You’ll always see us at the Celina events…we love being a part of this community!”
When the brick and mortar opened in March of 2022, Thrown: Axe Co. began offering time slots for both walk-ins and online reservations. You can rent a lane for 30, 60, or 90 minutes. They also host birthday, bachelor and bachelorette, graduation, and holiday parties along with off hour private rental events such as corporate outings and team building events. It’s a great date night spot or perfect place to host a luncheon or dinner to go along with a fun activity. They offer happy hour specials during sporting events but that can change weekly and are posted on social media. Thursdays are Ladies Night where ladies get 25% off throwing and drinks.
Thrown: Axe Co. currently hosts 4 leagues a year, where you compete head to head with other throwers each week before an end of season, single elimination tournament. When you sign up for a league, you get discounts on throwing, merchandise, and drinks during that season and have the ability to win cash prizes if you’re a top finisher in the tournament!
