Chef Matt McAllister revamps the creative culinary courses at Una Vida

Last fall, renowned chef Matt McAllister joined local restaurateur giant Mike Karns to revitalize the former Taco Diner space at West Village, creating an entirely new concept that features fresh cantina-style fare for particularly polished palates. Unique ingredients and options for any dietary desire make up the menu at Una Vida, the newest concept from Local Favorite Restaurant Group.

We introduced you to Una Vida in our March issue and now, just in time for our annual Food and Beverage issue, Una Vida has launched a new menu revamped for fall, unveiling some new items such as Chuletas a la Mexicana and Mezcal Mayan Prawns while keeping mainstay favorites like Heartcakes and Enchilada Rojas.

Creative cocktails combined with a relaxing patio come together to make Una Vida a perfect place for happy hour any day of the week. The Vidarita is a house specialty that is their take on a classic margarita with chile toreados. The margaritas on the menu are bold and unique, not to mention beautiful, as they introduce unexpected combinations to create flavors like brined melon, caramelized pineapple, and tamarind coconut.
