Leave the drapes parted just a bit when you tuck in for the night in a luscious beach-front room at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Florida. That way, when the dark gives way to the morning light, you can roll out of bed and watch the sunrise in your robe from your patio or walk a few steps to the sand and greet the day. Since 1928, the resort has hosted the well-heeled and regular Joes like me to the sprawling property just outside Jacksonville on a special stretch of the Atlantic.
Since Ponte Vedra is also a private beach club, there’s an air of familiarity and a slower pace that members bring to the vacation experience. Stand-outs are the 30,000 square foot Hollywood-inspired spa (think privacy and outstanding service) and dinner at the sparkling Seahorse Grille. You won't want to leave!
