I never paid much attention to love languages. In a general sense, yes, but I never looked up what the Seven Love Languages are until now. They (and their examples) are: Gifts (an anniversary necklace); Acts of Service (washing the dishes); Quality time (dinner and conversation); Words of Affirmation (you are such a great mom/dad); Physical Touch (holding hands); Communication (a spontaneous phone call or text); Expression of Affection and Love (kiss of hug).
It makes a lot of sense that strong, healthy relationships sometimes fall victim to failure due to not paying attention to a partner's love language because, after all, we have our own language and have you ever tried speaking to someone in a language they don't understand? With Valentine's Day at our feet, I challenge you to home in on the love languages of your friends, family members, and your lover. There are so many simple ways to tell someone that you care about them.
