Black & Blues Music & Brews is the coolest new hotspot in Loveland. Located at 423 N. Cleveland Avenue in Loveland, this place is a must-see for musicians and music lovers. The building houses an intimate venue for live shows, a full bar with signature cocktails, and a shop that sells hard-to-find gear and instruments. The vision began when Stephanie DeBlase and her boyfriend, Christopher Kellner were tired of driving long distances to find gear.
Stephanie met Angie Gonzales and her husband, Fabian Gonzales, through work and approached Angie about doing some photography for the new business. After talking about the idea, Angie and Fabian wanted to get involved. The four collaborated to create the ultimate place for music enthusiasts, where live music and drinks meet a boutique music shop offering specialty, high quality equipment.
The intimate listening room hosts all-ages shows and 100% of the cover goes directly to the bands that play. The taproom is not like a normal bar, as they only carry local beers. There is also a selection of liquor and wine. Their signature drinks are inspired by band names and song titles, like Muddy Waters and Ring of Fire. One thing that the four owners want to clarify is that they are not strictly a “blues joint.” They love all kinds of music, Stephanie explains, “we seek out the absolute best in everything.”
The boutique carries a selection of guitars and other equipment that cannot be found locally. “Everything that we carry we sought out. What we have is not something you are going to walk into a chain store and be able to take off the wall.” Stephanie says. The four partners created what they wanted to see in the community, believing that they were not the only ones who were looking for a place like this.
