Family-owned and based in Medina, Silhouette & Stand’s products are a perfect addition to your garden. In the 1990s, Sandy Berkes and her family came up with the idea of manufacturing elevated garden stands to hold flower pots, but soon realized that these stands could hold much more than just flowers.
The stand can hold various objects to decorate your garden, such as flowers, pumpkins, birdhouses, birdbaths and even corn stalks. Sandy says, “One customer ordered a stand with an Ohio State silhouette and drilled it into his deck to place an ice bucket in it.” The possibilities are endless when it comes to the stand’s uses.
Another different use for the stand is to place it over or next to gravestones. “The stands are perfect for cemeteries because they are substantial, and the workers won’t be throwing them away like other items that they might have to,” Sandy says. The stand is also adjustable and can be lowered down to 12 inches.
Sandy’s son had the idea to add silhouettes to the stands. The silhouettes are sold with a clip so designs can be changed whenever you would like. A few of the designs they sell include angels, cats, dogs, states, religious items and so much more. They are also licensed to carry NCAA college logos.
What makes the stand unique from other outdoor garden products? “There is nothing like it on the market. The design on its own is nice and elevates whatever you want to put in the stand. There are so many different uses to it,” Sandy says.
